The PEEA (Political Committee for National Liberation) organized in the village school the first national assembly of the Greeks fighting for the liberation with the participation of representatives, who had been elected freely by the Greek citizens in previous secret elections.
Historical preserved monument
The school has been declared a historic preserved monument and functions as a National Resistance museum. In the courtyard is a monument dedicated to this historic day. On the ground floor of the museum there is a library of books, while on the upper floor there is an exhibition with rich photographic material that records moments of the historic national assembly as well as others from the action of the fighters.
Temporarily unavailable
In the context of the upgrading of the National Resistance Museum of Koryschades and following the memorandum of cooperation with the Hellenic Parliament, the Region of Central Greece and the "Kokkalis" Foundation, the permanent exhibition of National Resistance at the Museum of National Resistance in Koryschades is being completed with feverish preparations.
For this reason, the Museum will remain closed until the work is completed. The opening of the new Museum exhibition is planned for the autumn.
We ask for the understanding of the visiting public until the completion of the technical works and the configuration of the interior space.
